Purpose
GitHub copilot is such a quality-of-life improvement, that it now feels limiting to code without internet access. We believe humans will no longer read and write text by themselves. Instead, it will be normal to have near-human AI systems that do all the boring work, that are experts in the subject literature, and thereby help anybody be 10x more productive. In knowledge work, of which law is the prime example, this will have the largest impact.

Purpose
We are changing the law the same way Cursor and Github CoPilot changed coding.
Legal research is hard enough on its own. The tools lawyers rely on - built by 50+ year old duopoly, Westlaw and Lexis - make it even harder. This is changing.
Our competitors build chatbots. But what lawyers really need is an IDE that covers the end-to-end research/writing process. That's what we're building.
Like Figma in its early days, we have early adopters who love it. They spend 8+ hours a week using midpage, and we're just getting started.
